He was a member of Die Sechs ("The Six"), a Munich based group of artists who joined forces in an attempt to compete with Ludwig Hohlwein, a prominent designer of the time. This poster was produced by Ottler for Das Plakat ("The Poster"), an early magazine of poster art which ran from 1910 to 1922, in a brief but subversive
